Our sponge is a versatile product: it can be used for washing dishes and other surfaces, but also as a peeling sponge for the body.
Luffa or loofah is a year-round climbing plant with beautiful yellow flowers. Its fruits are similar to zucchini or cucumber. During maturation, the interior transforms into a dense net of fibers in the shape of a mesh. It is the only plant known to be used as a dishwashing sponge or body scrub.
Our sponge is made of loofah, produced on an organic farm in Spain, without the use of pesticides, or synthetic fertilizers. Unlike other loofahs that are cleaned with caustic soda, these loofahs are picked by hand in order to ensure they are picked at just the right point of ripening, which makes cleaning easier. The process of emptying and cleaning is done only using mechanical techniques and natural spring water (at 43ºC), which adds natural salts and minerals to the loofah that are beneficial for our health.
We sewed the sponge with cotton threads, our logo is also made of 100% cotton – all so that our product can be composted after use.
How to use: Before use, soak the sponge with water, the more water you add, the more delicate it will be. After drying, the sponge will become coarse again. This property allows you to select the appropriate roughness of the peeling surface for the type and sensitivity of the skin or objects cleaned.
